# trove sources

> Load this page when: you need to list or delete saved sources from the terminal

## For agents

- Run trove sources list --json to read saved sources.
- Pass --yes to trove sources delete when no person can answer the prompt.

A source is a saved item that is not a book, such as a tweet saved with the browser extension.

## Quick reference

| Command | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `trove sources list` | List saved sources |
| `trove sources delete` | Delete sources by id |

## trove sources list

Lists saved sources.

**Usage**

```bash
trove sources list [--limit N] [--json]
```

**Arguments and flags**

| Flag | Value | Default | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `--limit` | integer | 50 | Maximum number of sources to return. |

**Example**

```bash
trove sources list --limit 10 --json
```

**Output**

With `--json` the output has `sources`, `total` and `nextCursor`. Each source has `id`, `sourceType`, `sourceUrl`, `content`, `authorName`, `authorHandle`, `publishedAt`, `needsEnrichment` and `createdAt`. Without it, the CLI prints a table.

## trove sources delete

Deletes sources. Text output only.

**Usage**

```bash
trove sources delete IDS [--yes]
```

**Arguments and flags**

| Argument or flag | Value | Default | Meaning |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `IDS` | comma-separated ids | required | Sources to delete. |
| `--yes`, `-y` | none | off | Skip the confirmation prompt. |

**Output**

```terminal
✓ Deleted 2 source(s): src_1, src_2
```

Ids that do not exist print `Not found:` with the ids.

**Errors**

| Message | Fix |
| --- | --- |
| `No source IDs provided` | Pass at least one id. |
